Vision Statement

The vision of the Academy for Human Rights is to ensure a more just, equitable, and sustainable world by creating an informed public, and lend collective force to change the world for good.

we can change the world Through Our Values

Hope is believing you can change the world. Education is learning what you want to change in the world. Advocacy is taking action to change the world. Inclusivity is incorporating the voices and experiences of others. Stewardship is responsibly funding and sustaining our work to change the world.

OUR VALUES

Hope

We believe hope and action change the world. Seeking truth and increasing knowledge informs individuals and inspires society to be more just, equitable, and humane.

Education

We believe education counterbalances prejudice, antisemitism, racism, sexism, and indifference. Lessons learned from our past inform our present and shape our future.

Advocacy

We believe students and teachers can learn from world-class change-makers and advocate for civic engagement and human rights in their communities and beyond.

Inclusivity

We believe in celebrating inclusivity and diversity. By incorporating the voices and experiences of others, participants become more informed, tolerant, and compassionate global citizens. We believe this is especially supportive for young adults seeking a sense of purpose and belonging.

Stewardship

We believe in wisely investing in our mission, through prudent management of funds, sound and ethical business practices, and recruiting and training skilled staff, speakers, and board members.
