The Academy for Human Rights Summer Symposium interns are the leaders who make the programs possible.

Program Interns

Summer Symposium Interns assist Academy For Human Rights Staff throughout the three-day intensive. Previous interns’ responsibilities have included leading smaller groups of students through projects, creating and delivering presentations on relevant topics, assisting in icebreaker activities, and serving as key participants in morning and afternoon debriefs with the students.

Requirements

  • Available for the duration of Symposium, as well as for meetings before and after the program.

  • Be a current undergraduate student.

  • Have a basic understanding of human rights, social justice, white supremacy, anti-imperialism, intersectionality, and feminism.

  • Previous Summer Symposium participants preferred but not required.

All prospective interns must apply, including those who interned in previous years.
