This webinar features a panel discussion with the top minds in education from around the country, including Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers, who will be discussing her latest book: Why Fascists Fear Teachers.
Generations After Genocide: Celebrating the History and Resilience of the Armenian People
Join us for an evening of learning and celebration on the 110th Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. Participants will learn some of the history, context, and precipitating factors that led to the first documented genocide of the 20th century. Additionally, family and personal narratives will be shared to provide insight on the diversity and resiliency of the Armenian people, and their experiences both within Armenia and the diaspora. Through dialogue, reflection, and shared learning, attendees will explore how understanding past injustices can strengthen our collective capacity to foster equity, justice, and informed action today.
The event is open to the community and secondary educators.
Registration is $20.00 and includes a light meal and traditional Armenian desserts.
Summer Symposium: Art as Resistance
Open to incoming 9th graders through graduating seniors, this three-day immersive experience invites young people to explore how art, music, theater, poetry, and media literacy have challenged injustice across history and continue to resist tyranny today. Participants will learn from inspiring artists, activists, and historians through hands-on workshops that empower youth to speak truth to power and take action in their communities, their nation, and the world.
