Understanding the Armenian Genocide and its Implications for Today

Details: Join us for an evening of learning and celebration on the 110th Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.  Held at the historic Eugene V. Debs Social Hall on April 24, 2026, from 6–8 PM.The event is open to the community and secondary educators Registration is $20.00 and includes a light meal and traditional Armenian deserts. Participants will learn some of the history, context, and precipitating factors that led to the first documented genocide of the 20th century.  Additionally, family and personal narratives will be shared to provide insight on the diversity and resiliency of the Armenian people, and their experiences both within Armenia and the diaspora. Through dialogue, reflection, and shared learning, attendees will explore how understanding past injustices can strengthen our collective capacity to foster equity, justice, and informed action today.
