A conversation with Brian Castner, writer, former Explosive Ordnance Disposal officer, and veteran of the Iraq War. Castner serves as a Senior Crisis Advisor for Amnesty International and was on assignment when Kabul fell to the Taliban in August. He will share his experience of fleeing the airport, his perspectives on Afghanistan, and why he was in the country at this time. Information on how you can support and help those in need from Afghanistan will be presented.
He is the bestselling author of Disappointment River, All the Ways We Kill and Die, and the war memoir The Long Walk, which was adapted into an opera and named a New York Times Editor’s Pick and Amazon Best Book of the Year.
