The 2020 Pre-Recorded Sessions:
This year, being all online has given us the unique opportunity to have some amazing speakers pre-record sessions so that our students can have access to them everyday of the Symposium. In our normal schedule, meditation, yoga and slam poetry was one session. Now you have access to these videos everyday!

Jean Gunner - Meditation Series
​Jean Gunner has spent most of her life being with families and children.  Jean became a regular meditation  practitioner in 2008 and has been a meditation guide since 2013.  She has devoted her life to helping society become more aware and awakened by reminding people of their innate goodness. Jean is a mom of two grown sons and enjoyed coordinating and attending a mindfulness based family camp in Northern Vermont for many years as a family.  In her professional life for the past 26 years, she has served families and children as Director of Buffalo Pediatric Associates.  Her practice and passion is being a parent, and engaging with families as they are the gateway to a healthy and enlightened society full of gentleness, intelligence and ordinary magic.  ​

​Jared Bogardus - Slam Poetry Introduction ​
J.B. Stone is a neurodivergent/autistic slam poet, writer and reviewer residing in Buffalo, NY. He is the author of A Place Between Expired Dreams And Renewed Nightmares (Ghost City Press 2018) and INHUMAN ELEGIES (Ghost City Press 2020). He is also the Editor-In-Chief/Reviews Editor at Variety Pack. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in Moon Park Review, Frontier Poetry, Atticus Review, [PANK], Empty Mirror, Peach Mag, Glass: A Journal of Poetry, and elsewhere.

SLAM POETRY CONTEST!
Write your own slam poetry and have the opportunity to have it published in J.B. Stone's publication Variety Pack. We also encourage you to record yourself reading your poetry on our Facebook page for a chance to be featured as well! Email poetry submissions to The students can send in their work to varietypacknonfiction@gmail.com with the following headline. 

Summer Institute - [their name] 
And to send submissions in a word document. 

We can't wait to see the amazing poetry you write! 


Katie KerKer - Yoga Session
Katelyn (Katie) Kerker A 30-minute yoga practice for self-care. Please, listen to your body during your practice. If you feel any pain do NOT push through it. Yoga is not a competition, it is a space and time for you to reflect and relax. Katie Kerker is AHR's Communications Director and a yoga practitioner. Katie first practiced yoga in high school as a way to stay fit and healthy but as the years progressed she discovered the other ways in which it changed her. Yoga has changed and challenged Katie mentally, physically, and spiritually. She is a strong proponent of yoga for everybody and every body.
